Service Delivery

  • LINC classes offered in-person and online
  • all services provided in-person
  • all workshops offered in-person and online

Participates in LINC (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada) in English, upon assessment by Achēv, Language Assessment Centre (LAC) -- (see separate entry), childminding available, day and evening classes available in various locations

Family Literacy Program -- language and age appropriate family reading and listening resources through a lending library

  • activities to encourage and reinforce family language learning with a certified Family Literacy Worker

Employment Access Program

  • workshops covering job search preparation and strategies, labour market information, workplace culture, resume, cover letter and interview preparation, career information and networking opportunities
  • one-on-one services to support developing action plans to reach employment goals
  • provides resources and referrals for employment needs

Employment Access for Newcomer Women - to empower newcomer women to establish fulfilling careers in the Canadian workforce

  • soft skills development; job market insights; cultural adaptation
  • interview preparation; resume building; career progression
  • community and support
  • job placement - 2 weeks, minimum 18 hours' following the workshop participants can take part in the placement program to put newly acquired skills into practice

Eligibility All newcomers including permanent residents, Convention refugees and live-in caregivers; Employment Access Programs: Permanent Residents, Convention Refugees, Live-In Caregivers, CUAET Holders, and temporary resident pathway for extended family members in Gaza of Canadian citizens and permanent residents
