Description and Service Details

Description (Service)

Offers a home-based early childhood education program that teaches parents to be their preschool child's first teacher and prepares their 3, 4, and 5-year-old children for success in school. 

  • Home Visitors meet weekly with parents in their own homes (in Oakville, Milton, and Burlington) to role-play the 30-week research-based curriculum using Canadian materials to teach pre-reading, pre-writing, and pre-math skills 
  • Parents are supported by their Home Visitors and by the activity packets that make learning and play more fun
  • 1 group meetin is held each month for mothers with guest speakers to discuss parenting topics, while their children participate in an Early Childhood Education program 

SMART - Supporting Mothers and Raising Toddlers

  • For children aged 18 - 36 months
  • Home Visitors demonstrate how to get maximum play and educational value from the toys and books we supply
  • Parents will learn 78 activities to share with their children throughout the 30-week program

Offer in-person group meetings for caregivers and children (please call for schedule, as meeting days might change if PD Days fall on Fridays)

  • Oakville - Once a month on a Fri, 10 am-11:30 am  at Oak Park Neighbourhood Centre (Call to confirm date)
  • Milton - Once a month on a Fri, 10 am-11:30 am at Milton Community Resource Centre (MCRC), Milton (Call to confirm date)
