Description and Service Details

Description (Service)

Literacy and basic skills training including numeracy, digital, communication and interpersonal skills

  • helps learners prepare for employment, apprenticeship, secondary-school credit, post-secondary education and greater independence
  • available in person or online, with sufficient enrollment
  • learners must be able to work independently, without the aid of a support worker and be able to set and meet learning goals
  • Basic and Intermediate Computer Skills Workshops available throughout the year

Office Mon-Fri 8 am-4 pm * daytime classes are available, call for class times 
 
Non-credit Academic Upgrading: 
Thomas Merton Secondary School - Oakville Campus 
Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu 9 am-11:30 am and 12:30 pm-3 pm

Areas Served Burlington ; Milton ; Oakville
Eligibility Ages: 18 year(s) and up
  • Ontario residents 18 years and older, with reading, writing and math skills below Grade 12 of the Ontario curriculum
  • must have facility in English (Canadian Language Benchmark Level 6 preferred)
  • willing to commit to a minimum of 10 hours of study per week
