Description (Service)

A military-based youth program

  • co-sponsored by the Halton Regional Police Service and the Oakville Historical Society
  • youth participants in the Army Cadets remain civilians throughout their involvement in the program and there is no obligation or expectation to join the military at any time 

Activities include: 

  • Brass and Reed Band 
  • overnight camping 
  • marching 
  • zip-lining 
  • map/compass and GPS training 
  • canoeing 
  • marksmanship
  • weekend exercises 
  • mountain biking 
  • personal fitness 
  • March Break, national, international trips 
  • confidence-building activities 

Uniforms, day and overnight activities, band participation and summer camp free of charge
