Description (Service)

Conservation Halton's Green Space: Newcomer Youth Climate Forum, launched in 2021 with RBC Tech for Nature. The program empowers youth ages 14-29 to learn about climate change, develop practical skills, and build friendships. Workshops provide volunteer hours, leadership training, and project engagement. Gain skills in environmental monitoring, technology, and innovation.

Topics include:

  • Learn more about the current climate crisis, climate science, and its local and global impact
  • Learn how to use technology to collect and interpret environmental data
  • Participate in nature-based climate solutions (e.g., tree planting, invasive species removal, native seed collection)
  • Learn about native Ontario plants and animals through outdoor learning
  • Learn about government policies, laws, and initiatives related to climate action, adaptation, and mitigation
  • Explore career paths related to climate science and environmental monitoring

Administration office open Monday to Friday from 8:30 am - 4 pm. Program hours vary with each program.
