Description and Service Details

Description (Service) Hospice care, residential support, respite and palliative care services for children with life-limiting or life-threatening illness requiring complex and/or technology dependent care * services can be provided at home, or in hospitals and long-term care homes * has a 12 bed overnight capacity with 6 respite beds, 2 hospice palliative care beds and 4 residential beds

Services:
  • respite care ($25 overnight stay/calendar)
  • day program ($15 calendar day)
  • in the respite program, children can stay at the Home for up to a week during peak times * a typical weekend respite stay is 48 hours
  • residential care offers long term care to children who are unable to be cared for at home because of their significant medical needs
  • hospice palliative care: respite, transition to home support, and end-of-life care
  • therapeutic programs including music therapy, recreation therapy, pet therapy, art therapy, hydrotherapy, and multi-sensory Snoezelen therapy
  • family support program offers specialized services to support the mental health and well-being of the entire family unit throughout their caregiving journey
