Description (Service)

Conservation Halton's Green Space: Newcomer Youth Climate Forum, launched in 2021 with RBC Tech for Nature, empowers youth aged 14-29 to learn about climate change, develop practical skills, and build friendships. Workshops provide volunteer hours, leadership training, and project engagement. Gain skills in environmental monitoring, technology, and innovation.

Topics will include:

  • learn more about the current climate crisis, climate science, and its local and global impact
  • learn how to use technology to collect and interpret environmental data
  • participate in nature-based climate solutions (e.g., tree planting, invasive species removal, native seed collection)
  • learn about native Ontario plants and animals through outdoor learning
  • learn about government policies, laws, and initiatives related to climate action, adaptation, and mitigation
  • explore career paths related to climate science and environmental monitoring
