Description and Service Details

Description (Service) Free skill-building program managed by the Ontario Psychotherapy Program
  • designed to help adults and youth 15+ manage mild to moderate symptoms of anxiety or depression, or those who feel depressed, stressed, worried, irritable or angry
  • Uses a cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) approach which is delivered over the phone with a coach and with the use of workbooks and online videos designed to help people learn skills to manage low to moderate levels of anxiety or depression, low mood and stress
  • BounceBack Coaching is available through the provincial Ontario Structured Psychotherapy program
  • BounceBack team includes registered clinical psychologists, administrative staff and over 60 coaches who offer telephone support in over 15 different languages

Eligibility Individuals must meet the following eligibility:
  • ages 15 yrs and up
  • mild to moderate depression (PHQ-9) score between 0-21 (with or without anxiety)
  • not actively suicidal or has tried to commit suicide in the last 6 months
  • not at risk to harm self or others
  • not significantly misusing alcohol or drugs to the extent that it would impact engagement in CBT treatment
  • no personality disorder and no psychosis or manic episodes within the past 6 months
  • sufficient concentration and motivation to engage in the program
